Al Shindagha Museum Winter Camp Adventures: Explore the Tales of the Sea
Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) is providing enriching entertainment experiences for children aged between 8 to 12 through its winter camp at Al Shindagha Museum. The camp spans two weeks, with the first running from December 18 to 22, and the second from December 25 to 29. It aims to allow children to explore Emirati heritage and marvel at the marine environment through innovative workshops designed to enhance their knowledge of the Emirati culture and Dubai’s and the UAE’s history.
During the camp, themed ‘Explore the Tales of the Sea’, children will embark on a journey filled with fun and adventure, following in the footsteps of their ancestors. They will stop at various stations to learn how ships sail and how winds and currents affect them at sea, understand sea navigation techniques, and navigate by the stars. Additionally, they will discover ancient diving techniques and traditional pearl diving methods, practice opening oysters, and ‘khabt,’ a craft used for protection during pearl extraction from rocks. The camp also includes activities like engaging in the art of navigation, learning methods of preserving health at sea, and practicing the traditional pearl diver techniques.
